Re: Triple ride out
We managed 4 ! Met up at Squires this evening (there were 5 at this point) then moved on to a nice little backstreet chipperie, for some good old Yorkshire Fish n Chips, mmmm...
Mine was the only Triple there.. but only just.
On the return leg the centre cylinder started to miss an occasional beat, then a bit more and more until it disappeared altogether.
I pulled up at a local nature reserve and put a plug back in that was changed out in 2014 (just for the sake of it).
It didn't make a blind bit of difference so I rode home on two, taking the motorway instead of struggling through towns and villages. and still managing to do 70 plus to pass things..
Just getting off the Motorway for home, the engine wilted completely, a quick change onto reserve picked her up again, having the throttle wide open to haul a dud cylinder along must have been like having a hole in the tank..
So it looks like I have my weekend sewn up..

Plug lasting that long has to be your H2.
Electronic issue should be straight forward to you Graham.

Aye Lad, the S1 is a tad uncomfortable at the moment.. the seat is in Hartlepool..SAM wrote:Plug lasting that long has to be your H2.![]()

I rarely have plug troubles, they stay pretty good and usually only get changed as above when I really think I should put new ones in.. I even dated this last lot.. Aug 14 it came out, I still have the picture of them all sat on the seat after removal.. fck me I'm a boring old git!
Yeah Iggy system doesn't frighten me (it's the other way round), from the abrupt stop/start nature of the cyl I'm expecting a broken wire or connector pulled out somewhere, the Iggy units are Wolfie rebuilt about 4-5 years ago.

Nah, not this time. I looked at the weather and thought bike?/boat? and decided to take the boat out for a spin. It's older than a triple, well, possibly the same as a very early H1. And has a Volvo engine.SAM wrote:Roads look flooded round your way James?Mitsui Spy wrote:As it seemed like the last day of summer I took the old Volvo for a run near Driffield...

Meantime a dirty coil connector (red) under the tank was the problem and I put last nights Plug back in.. the centre cyl don't half smoke now..
