First Yorkshire Chippy run of 2018, Thurs APR 19th

Just in case you Tykes didn't know, Thursday nights became a bit of regular get together for all two strokers with the intention of getting some good old Yorkshire Fish n Chips down our necks over the last coupla years we have found some great ones some entertaining and some to simply avoid, Wetherby is a good 'un.

Artie from Huddersfield had bitten the bullet and announced the first one for this year.

"Just a shout out guys if anyone fancies joining in and maybe leading the way
Weather is bang on for Thursday so at the moment me Bof and James are having a run out and probably some chips somewhere possibly Wetherby, meeting at Squires time to be confirmed but probably the usual 5.30 I will confirm that."

We'll probably go back to Squires after the food if your up for a meet up.

All this sunshine and as usual, the Yorkshire membership are stopping at home in their droves..

Meeting at Starbucks (Opposite the Three Nuns) Mirfield 4:30pm then Squires 5:30 - 6:00

Then the Wetherby Whaler ship chop in erm, Wetherby oddly enough.

Then most likely back to Squires when we're too fat to move.

Expensive, use the red lion car park access is down the side of the chippy or straight ahead at the roundabout and then first right, wetherby wailers are all over, Pudsey, York, Doncaster to name a few

Meeting point not announced yet Dave, often it's the Redneck Cafe (Doncaster road) Wakefield..

I must admit that the route to Squires from Mirfield was shit, absolutely chocca even difficult progress on the bikes. Even getting to Mirfield from Dewsbury took 15years.

Despite the tough going for the first part of the night out (to be expected at rush hour), the rest of the ride was excellent and the usual route up the old and now bypassed parts of the A1 meant that we had some of the best bits to ourselves.
A few bikes got lost at the A64 roundabout cos the exit we take is tiny and easily missed, but Lo.. as we got to the Wetherby A1 roundabout they were just coming off the A1 exit slip road and we all mixed together again. Perfect timing.
So around 10 bikes ended up at the Wetherby Whaler and as usual there was a queue out of the door for their lovely fish n chips.. Mmm..

Yeah that's a Yamaha getting some spanner attention, but he said 'it isn't broken.... just checking'..





But we're already looking forward to the next one.. Roll on Thursday (with sunshine of course).[/color]

Agreed. The drive home after work through Ravey is often walking pace. I'll see what time I finish and try and get to the Redneck ( redbeck).
