It is just an easier route to keep people together Graham. Most other places involve going through built-up areas and that can be a pain with a large group.
p.s. the most exciting thing in Morecambe is watching the traffic lights change

That's 2 rideouts you don't seem too keen on Graham?
It's not just about the destination but how we get there. This route has proven to be enjoyed by almost everyone over the years, taking us along some excellent quiet roads.
Yes there are plenty more routes and destinations we could take but the mileage and time we have restrict us. You already remarked on the Peak rideout being too long at 124 miles.
The ride to Morecambe take you along nothing but boring roads with lots of traffic and the destination has a lot to be desired.

Been there, done that  its not a very good ride though, crap roads and you have to go through a busy Lancaster city centre on a Saturday, which is not fun. A better option is to ride into the Trough of Bowland. Speak to me at the rally Thumbs Up

There also a good butty wagon in the the Trough at Langden Brook Car Park who does a cracking Spam n Egg butty. He's only there on Sat & Sundays though.

Lancaster is often the second slowest city outside of London.

Enter at your own peril due to grey hound bridge is closed for a big refurb at the moment so be prepared for a very slow trip via the diverted route.
