It’s a shame you couldn’t get on with the kit, I’m not sure how fitting replacement jets and needles can cause only one cylinder to lag but if that’s what you found, it’s unfortunate
However, if you decide to sell the complete kit, including the 35s and 37.5s , I’m sure I can put it to good use
I’ve fitted two of these kits and found they transformed the bikes performance but maybe I’ve just been lucky

Like you I am converted. I know they transformed the H2
But didnt waste any time getting a set for the 500 before I rode it.
Guess its like everything some people like em and some don't.

I feel quite guilty after bigging the Ivans up so much.
Before you give up , if you want to borrow the carbs complete off my H2 you are welcome. Its not going anywhere this year. You could take them with cables etc. attached for a test if you wish. Or my spare set if you want play on some more, but they need a good clean and fettle first.

Hey Tom, absolutely no guilt needed cos i wanted to try them particularly given the good reviews on this site and others. I didnt go into it without doing research. Unfortunately on my bike with its particular setup (jacked up barrels and mild tuning on the exhaust ports) it wasnt to be. The kit still provides many options for tweaking my h2 as all the other jets in my rag tag collection are nylon and i dont trust them!
I will bare your generous offer in mind re the carb loan many thanks. After that sensational rally a few weeks back im all fired up again to tinker. Even fitted an LED headlight so i can see (7 quid well spent) and the coils / ht caps were on the list since the problems i had at Spa.
I didnt realise that at some point in the past i modified a headlight bulb to fit a 55w/55w halogen one. no wonder the indicators would struggle at traffic lights.
Cant find it on ebay at the mo but if you look for "4-Sides 24W LED High/Low Beam Motorcycle Universal Headlight Bulb Fog Lamp H4 H6" on google images you will find it.
It wasnt designed for a h2 headlight but one of the tin adaptors can easily be modded to fit. Can do a pic of it if anyone needs!

Stripped each carb and all passages look clear inc the pilot jets. They had been ultrasonically clean twice in the last few years.
I also checked there were no leaks on the inlet manifolds and chose to ignore comments like crank seals or worn slide (££££). I also had a baffle plate missing from one exhaust so wondered if this was the problem but there was no easy fix for this unless I bought some spannies.

Downside was the surging was back. I plan to try making the idle richer (float height, idle screws, pilot jet) to minimise this. Im wondering if my old pilots (35's) are coated so are not in spec now? Ive have some new 35.0 and 37.5 jets in the ivan kit so will try these. Failing this I prefer to live with the surging and just keep the throttle open than how the ivan kit performed!!!
Its a shame, having spent some 250 quid on the ivan kit ive persevered and tweeked every setting over the last 3 years. There are too many people saying how good they are but for me, it just didn't gel. Don't get me wrong, it ran reasonably well in the end and surging was better but it also (to me) removed some of the H2 character to the point where I found it less fun to ride. There may be a second hand ivan kit for sale on ebay soon!

If you have not done so, i would give the CSI-UFO's a try.
There has been talk about these on the triples face book pages.
It's said they kill off the H2 surging, you will also need to down size the pilot
jets to about 17.5 - 20 when using the inserts.

If surging was as simple as a cutaway size or worn slide problem, why is it still an issue after 40 odd years? There wouldn't be any surging triples left by now as any that did it would have been sorted easily.
In fact it probably wouldn't even be regarded as an issue.

Having followed this thread for a while and being one of the few that decided they didnt work for me ( h2a 1.5mm overbore, jacked up barrels, std airbox no snorkel, higspeeds) I have decided to sell my Ivans kit. Used for about 1000 miles (2 years). The kit is complete in the original box and with the instructions (the odd fingerprint here and there). Got the instructions electronically too.
Cost me £220 for the "Ivans H2-7275 Jet Kit"
