Re: 50th anniversary of the H1
I have had an initial discussion with the Events Organiser from the VMCC.
The summary of that was:
I am prepared to be the main organiser of this.
I need to get an idea of numbers of members wanting to do a Triples track session - H1s preferably but all Triples considered.
Post here or PM me if you are interested and think you will come along.
I also need at least 2 or 3 volunteers to help with some organising pre-event and also help during the event. Let me know if you are prepared to help with this.
The summary of that was:
The dates of the Festival of 1000 bikes are planned to be 5-7th July (subject to contract)
We can have a Kawasaki Triple track session (all sizes 250-750cc) if we can get 45-50 bikes definitely on the track.
Cost will be worked out later. It was £80 for one session last year - camping free with this and if you join VMCC there is a discount. We MAY be able to work out a deal with VMCC - but this is not guaranteed.
We can have a space on the Avenue of Clubs with space for a marquee and 12-15 display bikes - but if we want more space they will likely provide it. This is free - we just have to provide the marquee.
Camping area is large and it may be possible to reserve an area for us.
He sounded keen at the thought of 50 triples doing the track session.

Hi Nick, I will be there with a H1 at least, maybe a H2 as well if you want?
Cheers

Re: 50th anniversary of the H1
Getting together 50 H1s might be a tall order
How many other events are planned around a similar time of year in 2019
The Festival of 1000 bikes is undoubtedly a fantastic event and could provide an excellent platform to run a KTC celebration. obviously Nick will need to establish total costs and/or costs per head for each entrant
I reckon that once a clearer picture has been established then members will be able to decide if they are able to support the event

Count me in Nick.
Correct me if i'm wrong Peak rally week-end before this????.
If so i should be on Mainland to lend a hand with setup etc.
Bit daft to head home to come back again let alone the cost of the Ferries
