Buying from the USA
Here is a new rip off. As from the 5th of November, customs and excise now charge an extra £11to £12 pounds plus import duty for items imported from non EU sources and under £873 in value. Here is my example. Part for rear hub for early H1 bought for £34 including postage. Import tax £14.51 plus the dreaded post office handling fee of £8.00. Hardly worth it you might say! I'll have to be real desperate before I buy from the States again.

Re: Buying from the USA
Hi Starsky, very interesting experiance, could you repost this on my thread under 'Any things Triple related' just to keep all the information together.
This is exactly the information I was looking for before getting caught with extra charges, it seems the USA source has had its day unless you have a friend with spare luggage space and a willingness to risk a search at customs !
Trouble is some parts only seem to be listed from over there and the prices are unbelievable with an additional ridiculous delivery charge, the market has realised there are too many people able and prepared to pay.
