getting a title for a US import ????? is it possible

Hi guys, I have 3 triples that came from the states, all without titles. Here in Northern Ireland I cannot apply to get an age related licence plate and V5 for a motorcycle unless it has been imported from another country and has

Even stranger, the bike MUST be imported from another country to get an age related non transferable plate. If I cannot get titles for the bikes, the DVLA will issue a new 2009 reg number, and will not class the bikes to be road tax exempt ! even though they are 1972 and 1970 models.

Anyone know if I is possible to get a US title for a bike, if the bike is no longer in the US, I guess like an export title or something ?

Colraine are just being prats about it

it boils down to they have to create a history for the bike

means typing a few lines on the computer system

they will not do it
lazy bastards, had it out with them

they will do it for ultra rare and bikes of historic value but not for any run of the mill stuff.

best bet is to get someone you know in england to do it for you

then import it in to norn ireland

seems to be the only way to get age related plate.

this might change when they all get their p45,s when swansea takes over

if the bike is a u.s import it will have a date stamp on the headstock lable, take an image of this as evidence
