exhaust header nuts for h2 750 with denco pipes

Post by IanT »

Hi All,

Ian from Watford here, just wondering does anyone know where I can get some nuts 8mm x 1.25mm thread nuts with something like a 10mm hexegen head for an H2 750 with Denco pipes header nuts, because the ones fitted have a 13mm hexegen head and are tight to get a socket on.

Cheers in advance for any information.

Thank you.

Remove studs and use socket head bolts.

I use socket head bolts as suggested by mraxl above but kawslucs suggestion sounds worth investigating as then every time the exhaust stubs come off you are not wearing the alloy thread.
They are cheap enough to be worth a try.
Also what are your sockets like as some makes are a lot thicker than others. Some of the better quality ones have much thinner walls than cheaper ones so may be easier to use. You also can buy good quality ones singularly so you would only buy that size.
Or you could try to find a steel box spanner that size as they are thin wall.
There are 8mm 1.25 nuts out there with 12mm heads. They were used a lot as OE fitment but the after market ones generally have a 13mm head. Maybe check out the original Kawasaki part number part number 316B0800 and see if they are 12mm and replace the ones on the bike.
