Hi All,
Many thanks for the replies regarding the engine casing, managed to source a near perfect replacement.
I have recently installed the wiring loom and have come across an issue while fitting reproduction indicators. The front pair went on, earthed, relay connected and both sides work, result!!!
Plumbed in the rear pair and nothing, either front or back. Tried disconnecting the earths while indicators are on and reconnecting the earth and they then work. Switch the indicators off then on again and then they dont work, I have tried earthing the indicator body directly to the frame, still no joy.
This has me stumped as the live has power and I have a good earth. It has to be something simple. Any words of wisdom would be gratefully recieved , thanks guys.
Jim

Re: 1973 H1D Indicator Issue
You're probably right, it may be so simple that you overlook it..
When the indicators are "on" but not working (either direction), go along the voltage path with a meter to see where the voltage is disappearing.
So that's:- Both sides of the indicator relay.
Connector in the headlamp.
Handlebar switch.
Connector in the headlamp again,
Single bullet to the Indicator (front and rear).
Lastly the ground wire Bullet connector, Front and rear.
Write down the results and let us know.

Check the earths inside the indicator bodies
