S3 rebore & pistons

Post by Neil G »

Good evening ... what with all this isolation going on I decided to pull my S3 motor apart, well at least the top end anyway ... has anyone got advise regarding makes of pistons and companies that can carry out the rebore ? UK based please.

Lots of good feedback in Cruising Image pistons. Not used them myself but others have.

What makes you think they need a rebore ?
If it does then my advice would be to do the crank while you're at it
You really don't want to overload 40 yr old bearings by upping the compression

My bike was on the Dyno a little while ago.. There's a hole in power at around 6grand (due to other things) but then it goes straight up to 11grand he said casually!!!!

I guess that will make Cruising image pistons pretty good.

Who cares..at this price it is 3 tanks of fuel worth.

Guys, bores are lightly scored and whilst it probably does not need doing, whilst I have the engine apart I thought I’d get it done .... hey, I can’t ride it right now so let’s do some maintenance right ?

"Every Cloud....." Eh?

It possibly means that their price will go up as the demand drops..
