H1 500 carb upgrade

Post by H1anker »

Hi guys
So iam playing with the thought of a set of tm 34mm carbs, as I have on my rd400.

Anyone has experince with this or similar?
Can you get a kit, with the rubber to go inbtween the carb and intake?

Plan is to have a set of polished Jim lomas pipes on it eventually

Heard good things about a company called Motocarb over here. Go onto their website and have a look. They specialise in Mikuni VM and TM carbs. Thumbs Up

There are a few people that have made these bolt on adapters if you have a search around.

I see the link to Boblesbits doesn't work anymore, but maybe Peter Mac can help out, if you can't find an alternative?
Denco made them originally back in the '70's

I've got vm 34m's on orville, Peter macs adaptors and rubber carb unions from Allen's performance, easier on an h1 than a kh 500 as there's no gear shift indent

If I told you I would have to kill you :?

Orville is slightly tuned, so the carbs are set up for it specifically and would not help on another set up. Better to get themset up on a dyno to suit you motor Thumbs Up

I am running TM 32,s on a tuned H2. I am currently running 170 mains.
But as kerry mentioned above should really get it on a dyno to sort out correct jetting.

The market is flooded with cheap china fakes. The china fakes even say "MIKUNI CORP" and "JAPAN" on the castings.

The real thing:

This was thje reason I bought mines on french Mikuni importator.
Evil bay, you never know what you will really get for carbs.(the whole carb or the parts)
Just know that at $ 79.99 new there is no way it will be real Mikuni but in the other side even if you pay the price of real mikuni...
