H2b parts and advice needed
Hiya Guys, i have an H2b that started making a lot of gearbox noises, upon stripping it down, we found that the second gear output shaft and second gear drive shaft were all chewed up, part number 13130027 and 13131033 i believe, also the drum-gear change was broken at the end with the pins, does anyone have any advice where i may be able to source these parts, or does anyone have any spares? also does anyone know how the damage may have occurred? i wasnt riding it like i stole it
Thanks in advance Banjo

Don't know much about the H series myself but I daresay someone will be along who does. Bit quiet on here at the moment but we're slowly luring them back from Facebook.

Heres the gears.
You could get them made in the UK at Nova but its not cheap.
I asked Bill Bristow what he thought after sending him your text on here via whatsapp and he said Possibly a broken circlip in the box? He said its alway hard to determine what went first in a blow up?

Good work Malc.
Am I right in thinking an H1 gear box cluster can also be used?

The H1 Gear set will drop straight in except for one of the end bearings (easiiy swapped across), you can't mix and match though, it's all or nothing.
The Forks have different part numbers, although I couldn't measure any difference when I was building the H2 box.
I think the drum is different, but the KH500 one did fit in mine (with all the KH mods) someone else may know better..

Re: H2b parts and advice needed
Ive found the drums and selectors to be the same too Graham even though they are different part numbers . One of the Selector forks is wider and that has to go on the far right with the engine upside down.
The FULL H1 box does fit no problem in a H2 and like you say you have to change the bearing next to the clutch for the H2 larger bearing.
You also have to put the gear of the H1 internal kickstart assembly on to the H2 internal kickstart assembly to work the H1 box.
Dave Higgs used a H1 box in his H2C back in 2010 with no issues and he DID know how to thrash a bike!!
