Just a note to myself ( and anyone else that's reading this ) . I had a very slight judder on the brakes, didn't do it very often but just put it down to 40+ yrs forks, so while I was changing the front tyre and on the centre stand I grabbed the forks and checked for play in the head bearings, " oh, that's not right! "
Lesson learned !
MOT not reqd, But check it anyway!

Much as I hate and detest doing MOT's I think they are a necessary evil. I will have my bike periodically done.

Good suggestion Dave just because an MOT is no longer required doesn't mean to say a bike doesn't need to be maintained and checked regularly

I am not a mechanic, but can do certain maintenance on the bikes. But I do get my bikes MOT'd for peace of mind as then can worn me of any problems with the bikes.
Plus they do give me a cut price for the MOT.

Agree that they need a cursory look, but the last mot my bike had, the tester couldn't start the bike and needed me to stay with him in case it stppped.
