Hello,

As mentioned in my post of April 2nd they've put me in the 750 group, whatever that is as there was no such group when I entered.

I've emailed them twice and have yet to receive any response let alone them answering my question. It's now a little over two weeks until the event and if I don't receive a response by the end of tomorrow I'll be withdrawing and demanding a refund.

If they can't do better than they have done so far then IMO they shouldn't be running such an event. Why VMCC has delegated it to Mallory rather than BHR is beyond me. Or perhaps it's another VMCC factional issue in play here.

And I've given up a ride at the Brands Hatch GP circuit for this!

I'm looking to come to this and i'm not sure whether to do sunday or the whole weekend. Just wondered if the triples club has some sort of communal camping area, or do we just stick the tent anywhere and also, how do you carry everything.

If you want to see triples on track, then Saturday is best. Sunday is race bikes.
Everyone will camp where they can, but there will be a couple of club gazebos set up to show bikes and act as a meeting point.

In 2019 it was first come first served. But arriving more or less the same time Kev Crew managed to pitch up along side, and a few others were close by. The club did have a stand/tent close to the circuit that served as a communal gathering point.

Thanks but I don't know anyone in this club yet and it's quite a few years, since I was last at Mallory, so won't know where anyone else is anyway.
May just come for the day, as I don't fancy being billy no mates on the sat night.

Unfortunately not, will be touring in Norway. Which is a pity, whereabouts are you in Notts?

Actually, the Mallory Park event will probably be a good one for meeting people in my experience. A lot of people going, and yes there will be a lot of faces & names that you have to try and remember, but am sure you will be made welcome. Sunday might not be the best day though, with all the triples on the track Saturday some members may drift away Sunday morning?

One of the best things about this club is we are a friendly bunch with a great social side, so make the effort and you will make friends for life.
Just find the club gazebo, you can't really miss it :D

I finally got through to a human at Mallory Park, to be told that someone from VMCC comes twice a week to take away any relevant paperwork, and it's this person that organises which bike goes in which class. It turns out that the class requested on the entry form has little or no relevance to what group the rider ends up in. and that this person organises the bikes and groups 'to suit the programme'.

This is not what I imagined I was signing up for and is not consistent with the entry form.

They'll try and get back to me on Thursday, however I'll be away at Cadwell Park so this might not be resolved for a few more days yet!

I have not received a wristbands or passes yet, has anyone else received anything?
A VMCC member rang them today and said they are a bit snowed under. They are leaving it a bit late with just over two weeks to the event!

As a complete club member novice I did my first Triples Rally in 2007 which was at the MFN . I can honestly say that I have now friends for life in members of this club. You won't be on your own with these guys. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It was like this in 2019 Tony. But all came good in the end and was a fantastic day on the track.

I think you are right Steve, I will try to get hold of a proper sound meter when I test them.

Here's a 'heads up', I'm afraid.

I had a track day at Cadwell on Friday, bike went well and so did I, up to a point. But for the penultimate session I withdrew the bike because of a sort of surging under power, like ignition briefly cutting out but with crunching noises from down below.

Engine out today for a post mortem, but if there's cog damage then I won't be able to make Mallory I'm afraid. Not got many spare H2 cogs and it's a Nova CR conversion anyway.

More news as it breaks.
