In a search for some sparks today I found I couldn't achieve a consistent gap at the pick ups. Something was running badly out of true. Found that the crank end is running about 8 thou out of round. FFS. Not sure yet whether it's the crank or just the taper as there are some marks on it that look like someone's had a file to it.

Well after many filings and measurements I've got it running true again. Old school with a fine file and dti, then engineer's blue. Reassembled the genny and now I have sparks using the H1E/F components. Yey! In the interests of modernisation I think I'll be taking the Accent ignition route however. Either way I needed to sort the end of the crank out.

Next job is getting the exhausts to fit. Trouble is I don't have much free time. What will be will be, but I'm not going to break my back like the last attempt.
I'll also have to build a loom for it as I'm not taking the H1 electrics route.

It'll put in an appearance some time this year but I'm resigned to it not being at the NW. :smt001
