S2, Niggles sorted.

My S2 had a couple of small niggles that I've lived with for a bit but decde to fix today.
First off its had occational clutch slip. The engines been reconditioned and is very crisp. Sometime back when doing its restoration it was suggested by someone that a 400 item might be advisable as the standard one was on the limit even when new. I'd installed a complete NOS standard item and after the running in period it soon showed signs of stress when not treating it with enoungh respect. So today in the 400 one went whilst looking at the other niggle - a slight oil pump banjo leak.
I'd already tried to fix this with replacement alloy washers a couple of times without luck. Decided to go with the Dowty bonded washers. Found the ones I had to be a bit small in diameter but they worked never the less. While I was at that decided to secure the bango's as there's no locking method as standard. I drilled the bolt heads [ 3/64" ] and wire locked them together. Maybe overkill but they're secure.

It's also worth wiring the end of the cable before that bendable tang breaks off.

Hi.
Used the triangular soft washers back in the day. Very costly compared to a roll of locking wire [ I have loads ].
Have done the odd bit of a/c work.

Hi.

Yes, owned by TFC. Very difficult restoration, always looking for that awkward part - bit like early Kawasaki stuff.

Took the S2 out for a 150 mile run on Sunday. No clutch slip or oil leaks - but an indicator packed up, always something to do.
