Hi all Happy New Year
Looking for advice on what size tyres to fit.
I think I remember back back in the day , when you change the original tyres you went up a size. Is it still the same.
One way of making bike feel wrong is to go big on standard wheels. 360/18 f 410/18 rear is good on 250. I see no reason why it would not feel good on 400.
If you just want it to look good go big.
I did all that swapping over on My Ducati Singles in the 70's. TT100s usually. I definitely peferred the 360 front 410 rears to the next size up. The bike became a heavy steer and lost its nimbleness. Works on cars too, putting fatter tyes on your Fiesta 1100 might look macho(?) but it screws the feel. Original tyres were 2.50 inch and 2.75 inch on 60's Ducatis! Not much more than bicycle tyres.
The 400 I have has Battlax 90/90 and 110/90 fitted. As I haven't ridden it yet due to lack of strating I can't say how it feeels yet....
Tyre sizes on my KH400 are 90/90-18 on the front & 110/80-18 on the rear.
For great tyres with the retro look use HEIDENAU K44 on the front & K36 on the rear.
