Kh250 generator

Post by Paul Yardley »

Hi all
Purchased a replacement generator cover for my 1978 kh250 nightmare project as bike was left outside for years and generator totally rotted, the replacement is wrong and must be for a earlier year, :smt010 can any1 say what year this is for and if I could make 1 out of original casing and internals off the other, any help appreciated
Thanks Paul

That's a pre-75 cover (S1B etc.) with the 2 hole cover. S1C onwards had the 4 hole cover. I'll have to check on the internals to see if they interchangeable.

The stator assembly has the same part number (21003-016) for both early and late so you should be okay. It's also worth mentioning that the stator assembly is secured to the casing by the 3 outer M5 screws, not the 3 internal M6s. Someone was struggling with this recently as it's not immediately obvious. Thumbs Up

I will be putting a complete 4 hole generator on eBay later today, or if you want just the outer 4 hole case I have a few spare.

We’ve all been there 😄 If you want to transfer your internals into a 4 hole cover, I can send you one FOC. Just cover the postage.
