New member from Ireland

Hi All,
I’m a new member and just want to share my latest purchase with the group. Like most it was a teenage dream, 46 years later I have one. It’s a 1977 KH 400 from Italy. It appears very original. Need a full restoration, it has apparently has 8500 km in the clock, the story was that it was in a shop on display at one point.. (but who knows right)
Any constructive observations would very appreciated.

Is it a recent import? Actually, that looks like the Bike I saw in a shop in Lincoln several years ago.. got pictures somewhere.

BTW, Italian 400 are heavier than usual as at this time in Italy bikes from Japan should weight 180 kilos minimum. So you have lead inside the tubes of the frame.

Welcome Brian, it would be nice to keep that one unrestored as far as possible. Not many "survivors" left

If you do decide to strip it and restore it, don’t throw anything away even if it looks scrap.
Some parts are very hard or even impossible to find. I speak from my own experience as a relatively new triple owner and club member. Rubber parts, ie grommets, bungs etc can be a problem.

Too true! Parts that were not economic to repair years ago are now viable.

Yep, I keep everything, although I am in the process of clearing parts out and there will be more on that in the December Magazine
