H2 with higgsy pipes

Just finished fitting a set of pipes to the H2 while the standard ones are going off for a couple of small repairs and re-chroming.

Thank's Mr Clarke, I suppose I should do the correct thing and pop out for a test run down your way. About 11 ok for her next door?

Amazing how light it feels now, even just pushing it in and out of the garage.

Could get used to 'em

here is a question for you, the tank colour u have there appears metallic, is that correct, whuy do some have a non metallic electric blue are they just being big pants, also I know early 1972 H2s were bloo, later ones could be Gold, but I also hear that Jap ones also came in a fetching shade of white? anyone seen one in that livery?

I'm not an H2 expert by any means

but as far as I know the correct colour as Kawasaki call it is pearl candytone blue which is a slight metallic. In some lights you can hardly see it, under flash photography (like my pic) it shows up more. When you say you have seen plain solid blue it is probably either due to the light or it has been painted wrongly.

I Believe only the American market offered the 72 H2 in gold as well as blue.

We may need one of our H2 anoraks here

perhaps Mr Brett, Mr Clarke or Mr Young can offer further info on this subject

gold 72 H2 wasn't sold on USA market, euro market except UK, australian market and japan market.

Nice to see another Uk blue H2

looks great.

I would be interested to know how the jetting works out with the pipes/ std air box as I didn`t have much luck with mine while waiting for my silencers to be re-chromed

Ivan, I only rode it with the pipes for the first time last night and wow

is all I can say. It has always had a nice engine with very little off throttle surging compared with some but now it feels like it's got another 10hp across the range, ticks over nice and pulls nice and strong from 2000 rpm the plugs look good although I havn't done a proper high speed chop yet to check the main jet size.

I'll let you know if i have to go up a size or 2 , I don't think i'll be messing with the pilots or needles cos it pulls so well from low down.

There is a down side though, now when it hits 6k in 2nd gear or higher the clutch starts to let go which it did'nt before so I guess that proves it has found some extra power. I will take the cover off this weekend and check everything is in order, maybe it just needs some of Rick's +10% springs I fitted those in my H1B and they did the trick.

I agree sam the weight reduction must make a difference, but I think there is also some more power there.

less weight would'nt make the clutch slip
