NOS H2C and 240 mile H2C

Post by malc87 »

I recently paid the $5 to reactivate my photo bucket account.
I had 2500 pictures on it including all the ones from the "And so it begins" thread on the rebuild of my garage in 2009/10.
My computer skills were not good enough to save pictures between 2003 and 2013 + when the computer went down that was usually the end of it.
This picture was on from when I had yet another trip down to see RB.
its shows his NOS H2C (now sold) and my 240 mile H2C still in my collection.
I paid 10K for it in 2004.

He did tell me but can’t remember 🙄
I’m sure there was something about them being ham fisted and rounding off some of the bolts😳😳

The 240 mile H2C will be on the club stand at Stafford😄

I guess it was
I put 5K down and my mate AL ,who did the Mid Ohio trips with me ,traded in his GSXR1000 as the other 5K.
I paid off AL as and when I could.
We have always worked like that with each for well over 20 years :D

I remember one day maybe 2001/2 we went to London to buy a 350 Avenger for £1500.
It was still early so we scanned the adverts and found a 250S1C at Oxford Honda and went and bought it for £500.
On to Charlie and AL bought an MV Agusta F4 for 7K, H2C for 7K and AP 50 for £2500 all mint.
I lent Al a portion of the money to buy them.......
When AL got bored with the MV I bought it off him for £6800 rode it to the TT and around Europe inc the Nurburgring ring and having put 2500 miles on it sold it when I got back for 7K.
Most uncomfortable bike I have EVER rode and slow too as it struggled to do 140MPH. I did get it up to 150MPH on the long straight at the ring, must have been hurricane force tailwind
I also ended up with the H2C when AL got bored with it!!
Great times :D

Re the 240 mile H2C, Kevin the gaffer at D+K rang me and said got something in you will want Malc. Downed tools, rang AL and off we went.
Is it 7K ? Kev, I said, nope higher, 8K ? Nope higher, 9K nope Higher. 10K, yep that will buy it........... those immortal words were then uttered that me and AL used all the time......... "Fook it I"ll have it.............

Many years later Kev told me they paid $3000 for it in the USA and at that time it was the most they had ever made on a classic bike!!

Ive wrote this for Stafford show

240 mile H2C!
Owner- Malc Anderson

50 years old!

Kawasaki 750 H2C 1975 with just 240 recorded miles, Unrestored and original!
When two friends bought a brand new H2C each, tragedy would follow when one was killed riding in the first week of ownership.
The other rider simply parked his H2C in the garage and never rode it again.
Purchased by me From D+K motorcycles, in 2004 for £10,000, the bike had lay in his garage in the USA for almost 30 years.
Many will say its sacrilege not to use but I have plenty of H2 riders, and its a real untouched time piece.
Its also a great untouched motorcycle for reference for Kawasaki triple club members who are restoring this model.

Yep,

Malcs spot on there about his H2c being an ideal reference for 'getting the details correct' I have visited more than a few times and have quite a few photographs from Malc after the 'How does this bit fasten on?' or 'what bolt goes in here?' type questions :D :)

That's a great story about your H2C Malc.
Never rode the 750 and only ever seen a handful in real life.
Great bike!
