KH400 oil pump bleeding prior start up.

Post by Mike 1958 »

:smt039 Hi all, help needed please. I’ve filled the oil tank up and bleed through to pump. I’ve put a small drill on the pump and rev it clockwise and anti clockwise but no oil enters the 3 oil lines coming from the pump, the engine banjo’s are open to prevent air lock. Do I need to bleed the oil pump by opening the banjo’s bolts on the pump before it pumps into the oil lines ???
Looking forward to some advice

Cheers Mike 😀👍🏍️ Thumbs Up

You don't need to open the banjo’s bolts, and I've never had to use a drill.
I just manually hold the quadrant fully open and rev the engine, you should see the oil coming through fairly quickly.
