On Monday 17th, I had the pleasure of a visit from member Mark (Aardvark) and his brother Norman.
For background, Mark and Norman's parents, and Norman, migrated to Australia some years back, and settled in a southern suburb of Melbourne, called Cranbourne.
Mark visits occasionally, and on his 3 most recent visits, he and I have managed to catch up, which has been a great for me as a fairly remote Club Member! Unfortunately, when I went to the 2023 Peak Rally, Mark was off on other activities, so we didn't get to meet then.
As you do on these catch-ups, there was a lot of chat about all the usual stuff, over coffee and cake (it was before noon), then a trip into 'the shed'.
Since Mark's last visit, not a lot had changed. New to me was my 2005 Z1000, a Kawasaki Balius (subject of a recent magazine article), and the 'work in progress' 1996 RGV250 I'm recommissioning for my son.
Norman looked longingly at my triples, and had a few tales to tell. One especially about the early days, involving a disused airfield (Fulbeck), H2's, and a certain Club President. Just the usual hijinx you'd expect from young blokes on big bikes!
It was great to catch up again Mark and Norman, and no doubt, we'll do it again!
Cheers,
Jeff and Jane

Brilliant stuff.
My middle lad has just recently attained his Aussie citizenship,so no doubt I'll have to find my way out there sometime too.

Where’s he living Skub?
If/when you do come down, you’re always welcome to visit. And, if it should happen around February (World Superbikes), or October (MotoGP), we’re only a bit over an hour and a half from Phillip Island! There’s always a spare bike in the garage too.

Yeah,it's a different mindset. Aussies think nothing of distances, not in the same way I do anyway.

Hi Jeff and Jane.
It was great to have a catch up, a year later than expected.
The home made lemon cake was bloody lovely with a real coffee.
The bike collection is always worth a look.
Until the next time Jeff and Jane.
