Hi, I have a friend restoring an S2 but one of the footrest lugs has broken off the frame and is missing .
I realise this is a long shot, but does anyone have any idea where he could get a lug? Any scrap frames around please?
Many thanks

Yes it's a common problem, my 400 also had a damaged one

Re: Footrest lug broken off frame
A very common problem, but, is this issue only on British sold bikes?
From memory, virtually all early models of British S series triples had solid footrests? If the bike were to fall or "go down the road" then all the stress from the footpeg being driven into the ground would be transferred to the lug on the frame and even the kicker hitting the pedal would be a constant knock to the lug. It's been a while but I do remember seeing the "tin" plate around those lugs often being distorted.

I've seen it on plenty of later "folding" footrests. Luckily, Paul Quinn has a box full
