Calling all you Surrey / London members..
There's a threat of some good weather this coming weekend, so we're gonna have a ride down to Rykers.
It would be good to meet up with anybody of a similar mindset..
We'll be there about 11:00am..

Re: Ride to Box Hill this coming Saturday 23rd May
Well Saturday has just gone west...
I/we seized the H2 on the A24 near Horsham coming back from Worthing this aft..
Not being daft or owt, I had urged her on a bit just to pass a coupla cars and rolled off ahead of them..
Another 100yds or so there was that horrible retardation and sinking feeling in the stomach but I hit the choke and rolled off more..
She did run a bit more then the engine completely and definitely stopped... I went down the gears then having almost stopped rolling, let the clutch out again and she picked up, slowly at first but definitely going again and without the usual "after seizure" clatter.
And she kept going, so I poked the choke some more and about a mile later pulled into a layby. I didn't stop the engine even though it felt and sounded normal.
Oil is still covering the window, oil tap on...
Revved nicely, so we set off again, it feels like there's a couple of Horses absent but no rattlier than usual..
That's my week organised when I get home then..

Bummer.
Lets hope you get it sorted and it's not (too) expensive.
Perhaps sir needs more than one triple, for such occasions.

Bad news Wolfie, hope it is easily and cheaply fixed.
There is no such thing as bad drink, just some better than others.

Just got back from Rykers, couldn’t find any triples there !
Came onto the club site to see your bad news, bad luck and I now realise why I was Billy No Mates today.
I have just rebuilt my engine since its seizure and today was the second ride out, about 45 miles of boredom through North Kent and Surrey Saturday morning towns.
Wolfie, I have to say I am suspecting the silencer extensions ( internal) we have both been playing with, I only gave it a quick blast and the result was terminal, sounds similar to your experience and you have said previously you do not rag it everywhere. Lots of discussion on the subject of my problem in my post re ‘Petrol tap flow rate’ in ‘Technical questions’ most observations seem to suggest mains jet or oil, I now have a big (115) main jet fitted and a new large bore oil tap.
Must get around to updating my technical post as I am now rebuilt again. Exhaust extensions now removed.
I came over specifically to ask you if you still had your temperature sensors fitted and if you had ever noticed a change in temperature when you gave it a handful, but now you will see how I felt when mine went bad it all happens so quick you are thinking about saving the situation rather than ‘was it pinking ‘ before it seized.
Good luck with your investigation next week hopefully you will be able to add some info to the discussion.
Regards

Re: Ride to Box Hill this coming Saturday 23rd May
Hi Colly, well no one had said they were going so there was apparently no loss if we didn't go either...
Anyhow, I'm home now and just before i put the Bike on the Bench, I gave her a kick and she fired up instantly. no unusual noises, ticks over right where she always did.. I feel like I'll be wasting my time opening her up.. But I must.
I hadn't considered the Extensions and they have been in there over a year now, some decent thrashes on ride outs didn't cause any issues previously.
On the way down to Worthing we had several miles riding much harder than the return and there were no signs or noises before the seize, just a bit of a mystery.
One thing I will look at is the Gauze at the bottom of the Oil tank although that was looked at last year too. After ASDA Tomorrow morning then before it gets too hot.
