No chance , I won't visit any country where various regions puts little value on life.
Hope the trip goes well and safe for him.

I think of the two going around the world and were told not to go into a real volatile country Iran in January 2025.
There still there in prison and that country has deteriorated so much due to world events.

The idea doesn't appeal to me at all,but we all must follow our dreams. Long time dead and all that.

I've subscribed and will be following his exploits. I hope everything lives up to the dream. 8)

Me neither. Though not just due to the safety concerns, more to the bureaucracy you encounter- I've ready lots of accounts of such trips and they seem to involve regularly spending hours or days waiting at borders & consulates for visas etc., plus being stopped to check your papers (& get a bribe) numerous times a day. Never sounds too much fun.

The reason for having 10 kids is a numbers game so there is more chance that some will get over here to pizz me off

And to the original question,

Not a chance in hell would I ride through anywhere like that, look what happened to the couple that rode through Iran

He has had a few days of sorting out paperwork insurance etc which had held him up unexpectantly .
Although he had filmed quite a bit of content he is struggling to get it off the camera and onto his laptop. Last time I heard off him he was intending to speak to his Grandson via FaceTime to talk him through the process!!!

My lad's just turned 19 and seems to have the travel bug. Last week the idiot went to Transnistria. No, I didn't know either but it's an automonous breakaway territory that aligns itself with Russia. It's on the Ukraine/Moldovan border. It's one of the places that the Foreign Office advises against all travel to.
Anyway, he managed to get in and out unscathed. Fkn idiot.

When I was 19 I considered a weekend camping at Scarborough an adventure, never mind going to the edge of a warzone in an unrecognised state  .
That said, I was also a fkn idiot at that age and did stupid things that now, as a parent, I'm ashamed and mortified by.
