S3Aoil pump
Hi all, please could you advise me on a leaky oil pump, I know there is a sealing washer between the oil pump and the banjo on the three outlets, but is there a sealing washer between the banjo and the triangular tab washer, or does the triangular tab washer act as a seal, this is on my 1975 S3a, any advice would be appreciated, many thanks

Re: S3Aoil pump
Roy, in theory my S2A should have the triangular tab washer - but it's a rather eccentrically put-together (before my time of ownership) rebuild so it doesn't.
I would guess that if the tab washer is made of aluminium then it should provide the necessary oil-tight seal. If it's made of steel I'd say you need the copper sealing washers.
Remember to anneal all the copper washers before re-use though! And use the correct torque when tightening the banjo bolts too.

Re: S3Aoil pump
Replace the single use aluminium crush washers with dowty seals.
They seal a lot better than used crush washers
However I've found the larger sized hole on the oil inlet banjo doesn't quite seal with a dowty seal
