Yeah !!

Post by g6mow »

Up at 3.45am to go to work, look out the window and there's a nice 3" dusting of snow. Took me 3/4 of an hour to get to work a trip that usually takes 10 mins , no gritting what so ever  It was pretty treacherous really an ambulance had taken out the traffic lights turning into the hospital and there were abandoned vehicles everywhere Once at work the boss tells me to go home "the weathers to bad" :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 Just having a brew then I can have the rest of the day in the garage. I love the British weather :D

So much for having a day in the garage, just got back from digging my son out of the snow. He was the only one that turned up for work  But saying that it is only his second day there.

Quite a bit of snow now.. not a problem, it's drivers who have no idea how to drive that are causing the jams.

The M62 ground to a halt despite the road surface being clear, so got off and went down the little lanes.. then sat in a queue behind a woman doing 3mph then trying to get her estate car up a hill, instead of taking a run at it in a high gear.

After 15mins of her slithering around, someone pushed her car round so she went back down, then everyone else just drove up the hill at a reasonable pace.

Dropped my Seat off at the Upholsterer yesterday. I drive a 200SX which is a bit too light to cope with snowy conditions, If it goes sideways on the drive then best to just forget it!. I couldnt understand why the car was gripping yesterday, and then i remembered i had six bags of coal in the boot, reminded me of the old capri handling kit ........

I had to put a concrete paving slab in Janey's Bee em one year, modern cars with front wheel drive should be fine until the snow reaches up to the cross members. then it becomes a sled.

Got a day at home tomorrer, think I'll be making one of these....
