Oh yeah, it's got to belch smoke and flames or its not worth lookin at. we get guys stand on the bridge on our lane with cameras, tripods, video cameras.... for fuckin hours just to watch something nondescript pull a load of coal into the power station...?

what ya want is a proper railway day out, this place is just 2miles from me, and is managed by a mate of mine..its cool, unless your on top of a lit boiler when its fkn hot

In my opinion, the noise and the sheer presence of a deltic has yet to be bettered in ANY modern loco

I absolutely love trains especially steam trains.But the sight and sound of a deltic stayed with me from when i was a small boy.awesome..........err ,sorry i'm a bit sad

When we did one of the rail companies security systems, there were loads of 'em in a yard in Immingham (in a very sorry state) then they all suddenly disappeared and the whole sidings is a car park now (for new imports).

But I really did enjoy going to the workshops in Ferrybridge power station, over a couple of years the guys completely stripped a shunter right down to the wheels, then restored it.

The finished engine could put some of our resto's to shame.

I do prefer the steam things, in fact I think it applies to all machinery that you can actually see the moving bits on the outside.

Spent some time when i was a kid, cleaning this in the Leeds yards for a show, The Great Marquess, 61994.
