It was a ¬72 H2 offered at £3k. by somebody called matthewpriest29. Nil feedback. Claimed the bike was imported from Holland in 1990. ( I wish I`d noted the reg number now ) No location or contact details except an e-mail address. Suspicious , Yeah !!!
Ah well, nothing ventured. So I e mailed him. When I check 2 hrs later. about 4pm . no response but the Classified ad had dissappeared. Bugger, I though Malc A has nipped in there ( ! )
No. I got an e-mail at approx Midnight " Bike is still for sale if you are interested ? ".
Sure, I reply, give me a contact number and tell me where you are, and I`ll get down asap. "pm on Monday his reply " I am in Scotland , nd unable to phone. I will sell it for £3k for a quick sale , you pay thru` E Bay, and I`ll deliver at my cost. "
Hmmmm, strange. I`m sure they have installed phones in Scotland , even before I moved abroad. ( London ! )
I replied " I will collect and pay cash. Being Scottish, tell me where you are , and I`ll give you directions to a phone....." " Matthew then replied " I will only sell through E BAy. You pay E Bay the money. I will send you the bike, and E Bay will only pay me when you are happy with the Bike"
Yeah right. And your real name Matthew, is Mr Umbongobongo from Nigeria..........probably.
