Just got the H1 carbs back today after being ultrasonic cleaned. Intend rebuilding them tonight and hopefully getting it fired up and out for a run tomorrow if everything goes according to plan.
Wasted a couple of hours last Sunday after putting the front end back together and plugged two of the 4 pin connectors in the headlight the wrong way round. Tried just about everything else until I saw my simple but important error.

Well that's the first part successfully completed. All back together and set up.
Even after ultrasonic cleaning one of those tiny little holes behind the slide was still blocked solid. Bought one of those micro drill bit sets from Maplins a few weeks ago and managed to clear it with one of those, about 0.4mm I think it was.

Just need a dry day tomorrow but it's not looking promising.

Dave Cunningham at TSR. I've used him a few times and his service is excellent. He also seems a really nice guy.Bizkarts wrote:They look nice, where did you get them done?

Successful weekend. Carbs went back on and it fired up fine but the petrol tap leaks. Oh well.
The blockage was crud, not residue from the cleaning. Dave is really thorough and I've never had any problems.
Sunday was lovely and sunny so out we went for an initial run. Started off by going a couple of miles from home and back, just in case things went bad and I had to push it. Did 22 miles and it feels really good. Rebuilt the forks over winter, new seals, bearings and oil and the handling is good. Not exactly like the ZX10R but perfectly acceptable for a 38 year old bike. Anyway, here's a photo of it parked on the moor.
Hoping to take it to the NW at Blackpool in May as I don't think the H2 will be ready.
