H2 Reserve Range

Had a good weekend out on the H2 and discovered a very useful piece of information on Sunday afternoon on the return from Hartside.

The H2 does 26 miles on reserve (going very, very carefully).

How do I know this? Because the distance from the point it stuttered onto reserve to the nearest petrol station is 28 miles.

Fortunately managed to freewheel for a mile to the edge of town then pushed it the final mile.

When we got to the garage a guy on a heavily modified Z1 was just about to leave but came over for a chat. "How many does that do to the gallon" he asked. "Not enough" was Angela's swift response. Bit harsh I thought, would have probably made it to the garage if she hadn't been on the back.

100+ MPG - Ran out of fuel, put a sprite bottle in (under a pint) rode 15 miles at 40 ish MPH and got to the petrol station with fuel left 8 x 15 MPP (minimum) = 120+ MPG During regular riding last year I got 52 MPG without trying

A well set up H2 will easily archive this

I regularly saw 140 miles on my trip counter

do usually between 10.5 liter to 13 per 10 Kilometers
have already done 5.2 liter per 100 kilometers was under 4000 RPM 5th gear as it was raining hard and the carbs slides blocked after 4000 RPM (Norwegian rally 2007)

Hmmm, this is one of those constantly repeating threads ,

very similar to " My FS1-E used to do 55mph , no bother.

( I used to think I had a slow one as it only did 48........till I found out all the other lads claimed to have 8" knobs as well..!! )
Mind you ,it must be true that the KH400 is the best Triple because its smooth with adequate power......Bet they do 80mpg at 110mph !!!

i have, and 47 /8 is it, my mate had an ap50 and that would do 55 cos it had an extra gear (bastard)

I think you mean 8mpg with 110 on speedo

.The owners handbook States : 45MPG @ 50MPH & 80MPG @ 30MPH, I wasn't even trying too hard, we did 70's and 40's accelerated hard and soft, Andy was on the KH500 and carl was on the H1e BOTH had worse consumption than myself

CHEAP OR WHAT. GAS ( we loveingly call it fuel) is only 51P/LITRE in the US.

I think you have solved the Fuel Crisis and saved the planet !!!!!!
All you need to do now is persuade California to re-legalise H2`s by reversing their emissions laws etc.

Its a wonder Kawasaki were so foolish enough to kill off the H2 and replace it that stoopid Z750 twin , as the Triple is clearly more fuel efficient.

Oh, by the way. I suspect you`ll find the fuel consumption increases horrendeously every mile you ride in summer. Mainly due to the huge weight building up from all those insects that will be colliding with the back off your helmet....................har har.

The Z 750 twin was gorgeous
