NTR. But very handy tool - Digital Protractor

Post by h2chris »

I know it's from Hong Kong but this is fantastic quality and is much easier that trying to read the scale on a bubble type one. It has a groove machined in one face with a magnet either end - great for sticking to tubes, etc. Also, the display flips 180 deg if you turn it over. Accuracy is 0.1 of a degree. All for £26.80!

how does it measure the angle between two items?

It looks like an inclinometer..

Moreover, you can simply place the meter on a reference surface zero to measure relative angle, then it will give a result of measured angle within 0.1° accuracy. With Absolute Angle Measurement, you will able to test whether the working surface is on the level. You can use this function to check roof slopes and wheel alignment etc.

so it is an inclinometer, ie can only measure vertical angles..

Still a handy tool for that sort of thing, but not quite my idea of a protractor.

It will measure any angle you stick it against. Perfect for a machine shop. Put the material in the vice, move it until you have the angle you want, clamp the vice and Voila! - you can machine that angle on the material - simples. :D
