I was reading the July/August issue of 'Motorcycle Classics' (an excellent American publication in itself) today and there is a review in there. Available at www.veloce.co.uk

www.motorcycleclassics.com is what you want. Comes out once every two months.

I don't subscribe as it is readily available, even here out in the sticks. W.H. Smiths stock it, but in their larger branches. I first picked it up not so long ago as a curiosity as I had never seen it before. Journalism and photography are first class.

Neil, maybe you could collaborate with Rick and produce something.. .

It seems to me that with all the knowledge on this and other realted forums that there already exists the basis for a Triples book to end all Triples books, it would be about the same size as the Encyclopedia Britannica...

It could be named Motorcyclopedia Triplanica

Ach, I was being "humourous" asking what Rick knew.

Other than not realising all the `72 triple range had satin black painted rear brake plates, He knows more than any other Human !

Mind you ,it is a good idea about collaborating. I can write better !! ( Yeah all the typo`s on here I blame on my sticky keyborad......oh, I`m digging myself a deeper hole innit....)

Thankfully I had NO input in the book, Oh, he did pinch a couple of my pictures - I was asked to contribute but declined - I would love to write a book myself but feel that there would be many versions as even after all these years I am still learning new stuff - to call this book the "Triples Bible" was very wrong, it is an interesting book but littered with a great many innacuracies.

I think " Original Kawasaki H2 " is the book you should get sorted Rick.

Dave Marsden told me there are a couple of innaccuracies in his " Original Z! " but he`s also forgotten some of th facts that he recorded in there.
So nothing is perfect. But its better getting most of it down before some other bloke who knows less prints something with MORE innaccuracies. As we all know that because its in a shiny book , the trainspotters who have never owned or ridden one will be quoting those " facts " verbatim back to us as if its the Gospel !!!
( i.e. " The 400 is the BEST triple......." )

I`ve bought some new crayons and 5 sheets of Foolscap to start writing it up for you. Lol.

My thoughts on the 'bible'-
whether the facts in the book are right or not, it seems to me the author ain't a fan of triples- does nowt but call every model,so i read it once n sold it on.very disappointed.

Apart from Malc and RB, there was very little assistance from UK triples enthusiasts with my book. In spite of me repeatedly asking, most help came from people in the USA and mainland Europe, who were brilliant in regard to providing anecdotes, technical info and photos.

The response from the UK triples owners/club members was generally negative - some might say bitter and twisted. Many of you feel you can write a better book - please feel free to get on with it and stop slagging off anyone who has the skill and hard work to do it for love, and certainly not the money. Which is crap by the way.

Any quotes were based on verbatim phone conversations, all notes were written up meticulously.

Those who feel they were misquoted might have had the guts to phone/contact me - you all have my number and email. Posting complete untruths here is slightly pathetic frankly...

Any further remarks about my ability as an author may result in legal action - either shut up, or see you in court.

Actually.....
I just googled Alistair Walker , and spent all of 3 minutes researching him.
Wow. What an interesting chap. He deserves a Biography about himself. He has a Degree !! And now works in PR . And has written loads of books. " Scooterama" for one , and " The Cafe RAcer Phenomenon ". A very busy boy.

No wonder he was pissed off at all those no-marks on the KH & S series forum who were unhelpful and negative. ( Bound to start at the top with Si over there I reckon. )

I haven`t read his book. But I jolly well will now. I suspect its the best book ever written about Kawasaki Triples.

Hmmm. I feel inspired by A.W.`s go-get`em attitude. I may have to pick up a pen...............Rick, got some photos I can borrow ?
