its not very often i ask for help but i really need urgently 2 locating dowels for gearbox locating , i have a set of cases that they have been pushed out , not by me i hasten to add but i have a set of old h2 cases that are fooked i have tried getting the dowels out of them but no chance
the plan is to re drill the cases in differnt location to fit a dowel in a new position on the gearbox input and output shafts
wher can i get some dowels ???? help

Its pretty straightforward getting dowels out if you go about it the right way.I have done a few.
One of the worst bodges i saw was on some crankcases that somebody showed me at the northern rally,i think they were off a drag bike.
Somebody had pressed the dowel in and then blobbed some mig weld on top to hold the bearing

Hava already do this it works and have even using the cases after the holes made for drilling were welded

It's drill from below Gary. You can then see the bottom of the dowel and push it up.

I certainly wouldn't drill holes in a crankcase although that may work.This is my solution which leaves no damage.

If you look back through yer club mags Gary, I did an article on removing the dowels a few years back.

It involved drilling and pushing out, but the small holes are no detriment or can be filled.

what a easy job that was with the right direction , 10min fix
you can see the indents where the dowels come up in the well behind carbs drilled a 1/8th hole till the bit touched the pin then centre punch on top of it ,two presses of the punch and the dowel moved

thanks guys engine repaired ready to give back to its owner
