NEW POST FOR SPA RALLY
Instead of having threads all over the place I feel it is best we start a new one solely for the Spa Rally.
It would be good if we had no piss taking and off topic posts.
Gary and myself have put ourselves forward to organise the trip for members who would like to go to Spa as a "Club group" I totally understand that some members would prefer to do there own thing, thats fine.
We cannot organise anything until the event has been finalised by the organisers. Once this happens we can get the ball rolling.
Here is a post from Leon (who is trying to sort things out at Spa) off RB's forum which I think may put a few people's mind at rest, and is what I have been trying to get through to members interested in attending the event.

I was thinking how to write this down, but you hit the nail.
My English writing is not that good that I can make everybody understand.
I understand that most of you are eager to know what's going to happen during the first international rally held at SPA.
But I first want to know if we can get the organisers of the Classic Bikes to give us some space on the compound.
As soon as I get some conformation from them we can get the rest of the program together

personally I would be very happy to camp.
I I'm bringing Jo who is happy to camp for 1 night, she was not impressed when she realised it was 2 nights
So as she is willing to sit on the back of my bike and come to an event that will be of very little interest to her ( they sell beer, it's spa are 2 plus points that i can think of right now)
then I have to reach a compromise and we have booked a hotel
if I was on my own I would camp.
Jo is new to the camping/bike lark
she needs to be let in slowly
we actually bought a tent this year that was big enough for Jo to stand up in and small enough to go on the back of the bike
so it is a start
If we don't end up going on mass, as I have booked the time off work, we might just jump the ferry and go anyway

Bump!
Right! it is time to be thinking about Ferries... Unfortunately Simon G6Mow cannot attend this time so I've taken on the Northern mantle..
First question:- who's goin Wednesday night(/thu) coming Back Monday night(/tue)?
And Who's for going Thursday night(/fri) and coming Back Sunday night(/mon) (ie the usual Dutch Rally timing)?
Then.. We'll arrange groups (4s), WaGs, couples etc.
I will want definite goers and payments when the numbers are in, we can't wait much longer as it is on a peak weekend, the places will fill up fast now Christmas is over.

That's not the worst suggestion that I ever heard, not wishing to pour cold piss on the idea of Spa, but it sounds like the weather at that time of year and location can be VERY iffy, it also clashes with The Tour de France and hotels/camping are not the greatest - Yep, I am also having second thoughts - ANY input would be appreciated.

As Adrian (KAS750) has posted previously. If we were to attend the Festival of 1000 Bikes to celebrate the 40th Anniversary I don't think we could do much better.
The event and venue is excellent with all facilities you could need.
3 day event
central location
camping
Track time Public Road (Sat) and Race Bike (Sun) Track Sessions
The biggest line up in Europe of Past Masters Machines and Star Riders on track.
Pre 65 Trials
Historic Grass Track
Historic Sprint Demo
Avenue of Clubs (50 clubs in attendance in 2011)
Trade Stands/Auto jumble
Real Ale Bar open all weekend with panoramic views of Stebbe Straight
Even more Live bands on the new ?Classic Racer Magazine Stage? starting Fri of the weekend which will feature more attractions for 2012 as well as the popular ?Stars on Stage? interviews.
I rest my case

I initially did some leg work to make contact with the vmcc with regard to us attending this event as some of you may remember.Gerald has consequently made a provisional arrangement with the vmcc to allow the club to attend the event on the avenue of clubs and book a track session for saturday.Needless to say as a long standing vmcc member i will be attending and riding.
Simon and myself did a little "recce" at the 2011 event and it truly has everything we need to celebrate this landmark...Plus its in England which as we all know is the epicentre of all things triple
