Airbox silencer for the top of the airbox on 69,70 etc H1 , with spring, not seen one on a bike??

steve woollet has that on his 70h1 it was a part only fitted to uk models with points i think
correct me if i am wrong
the bike goes better with it off

I have one but not on the bike, the rubber is a bit knackered.

Correct Gary, UK model with points only

Cant see how it would restrict a bike though???

Reduces the air intake to the airbox , see I am not just a drag racer I do know quite a bit about the anorak stuff

They reduce the air intake cause points early H1 had 90 main jets compare to CDI early H1 which had 100 main jets

My H1A [points] needs lots of air Fitted a KN filter into standard air box she did'nt run well
what i noticed was where the top of the filter sat there was hardly a gap between top of filter where it met the inside of filter box
so i took it out and ground down top of KN filter it goes a lot better now if i had fitted that part i dont think she would have gone anywhere
