H1F MOT

Post by Charlie Brown »

Hi all, Just got me H1F MOT'd for another year. Suzuki main dealer in Leamington Spa. The tester said steerings a bit stiff, so I showed how to turn the steering damper down. Then he said "nice looking pipes there" as he surveyed my brand new HIGSPEEDS. Then he started it up and said "bloody hell, that's noisy but nice" and we agreed that in terms of decibels per miles per year it was ok. So the bike is ready for a good thrashing when weather eases up. Thanks all for advice. Charle 8)

Hi Dave, Thanks for your advice yesterday. My other small independent bike MOT tester is away on holiday. Anyway, I showed the tester your web-site and he was impressed with all the other bikes you've got on it. Muttered something like "good to see people keeping these old bikes on the road" and issued the ticket. The bike is transformed with your pipes, bigger jets, and standard air box set up. Will send you some pictures for you web-site. Charlie 8)

Yes 105 main jet but on your recommendation I also replaced the float needle and jets, and pilot jets. Bike starts easy, runs clean at part throttle, and through to 6000rpm, then takes off to the red line. In conclusion, better running, easier to live with and ride, good mid range and definately more power 8)

Miles Kingsport in Hull passed my KH500 with loud spannies back in 98, when 3 other bike shops just listened to me pull up and said "no chance!"

Yeh guys" was thinkin  Why didn"t Kawsaki fettle with the jetting, so to get the most out of the engine back then " to impress the media" [ bike press] then resulting in more sales,, ?

Not to far from Lancaster. John Carr's at Garstang, A real old timer. The place is full of classic bikes. He has been doing my triples for years. He is a brit iron man at heart, but always admires my Kawasaki's. When my battery was goosed on my H2C a couple of years ago, it was a case of " i heard the horn, didn't you ". Ian.

Its a bit of a run for you but you could always try Brian Taylor of Wheelton Classic Motorcycles . He passed my H1e last year on Higgspeeds with the comment b.....h...... they're loud aren't they ?!.

Then you can visit Simon Lister's excellent Kawasaki emporium which is next door.
