Hi Guys and Gals
Just a quick note to chivvy you all along in case you are in any form of denial, it is now just THREE WEEKS to the bully off for Spa, I think most of you are organised and know where you are heading at least as far as the Ferry Terminal is concerned.
However, most of us 'locals' and those who join in along the way, visit the Fish and Chip shop in Newport, this is located on the old A63 (now B1230) which runs parallel to and about a mile south of the M62 between Junctions 37 (Howden) and 38(?) M62, this then means we don't need to pay the Ferry's inflated food price later and can concentrate on paying their inflated beer prices instead.
If any of you want to break their longer ride up. I'll be home all day and just about a mile from M62, J34 at Eggborough. Will be leaving here at around the 5PM mark, to visit said Chip shop, you are welcome to stop by and put yer feet up for a few hours I'll give you directions, literally within view of the Jct 34.
Compulsory Documents:-
Passports (of course).
V5s.
Certificate of Insurance (and check with your insurance that you have euro cover).
(Personal insurance is a bonus).
Compulsory Equipment:-
GB Sticker.
Reflective Jacket for Belgium, I read it as meaning, for the driver only, to wear in the event of breakdown at the roadside.
Headlamp adjustment.
It has to be said, in the case of the equipment, that we have never been pulled for not having any of these in place, but it is what the Eu law says according to the AA.
Back to the ferry.. I have given up trying to work out who is staying in which cabins, the keys will be issued at the loading ramp and I'll probly be last aboard so you will have to sort it out in the corridors outside the cabins, there are three couples so please give them choice on which cabins are best suited. (but please leave me a bunk somewhere!).
The Campsite.. I know most have pre booked cabins or caravans, if anyone hasn't booked anything yet then the campsite is
Camping Spa d'Or, you can reserve online, I think at this late stage they will want full payment in advance.
Leon has asked me to pass on this pre order form for tents, breakfasts and other meals. if you require any of these can you email this form back to him direct as soon as possible so he can put things in place to make our stay as comfortable as possible, his email address is
