Not really, but you have to make it a silver on black one if you insist.

Also should be above the headlight for correct period appearance too.

I see where you are coming from Pete, but all this black and silver pressed number plate business makes me laugh. As you say most people could'nt wait to change them to the "all new" yellow or white reflective type.

But that was when yellow and white reflective was new and the rarity, now it's the other way round.

Don't know if they rushed to put the yellow one's on in 73 but they might have, I can't remember? I know for sure they rushed to take off the front number plate though, whatever the colour. Asthetically a bike looks better without one, and they were often stuck on machines not designed for them looking like an afterthought.

I used to read US magazines of the day and drool over the stunning new bike's in the photo's, then see them on the road over here with the styling completely ruined by a lash on front plate.

Front plates look alright on a BSA Bantam but a H2?

You know my opinion on it.It would look good on the front mudguard though.Trouble is you need two back to back.
