Mon/Tues next week has a good forecast at the moment.. I might yet risk cleaning and polishing the bike.

Although, I emailed someone from work today who lives near Spa, and he says the weather has been shite for the last coupla weeks.

So, I placed an order for some Sunshine, he asked us not to drink all their beer in return.. hehehe.

it's hard to predict the weather in and around Spa

it's quit hilly, so on one side it can rain, on the other side there could be sunshine 8)

lets hope rain is on the other side :D

Scouse lives just off the A1 at Ferrybridge, the services are in his back garden..

Some are coming to mine which is next junction along (A19).

Far as I know, there is only yerself and Andrew coming down thataway.

Southern contingent are meeting up at Rays, just off the M18 J4.

Then the groups get together at Newport Chip shop about 5ish.

Hull docks for about 18:30 ish.

ALWAYS rains around Spa. It's them southern Belgian hills.

I'm not envious of your trip at all of course, and I hope it holds off for the event.

Cheers Andrew, sorry to hear this, bad news...

Andrew TT unfortunately, can't make the trip for this coming weekend :( ,this means we have a spare place, anyone who was 'umming and 'arring here is a golden opportunity to get aboard last minute..

Make yerself known and/or PM Andrew to arrange with him, the passenger details can be changed right up to the departure, so all you need is passport and money...

Meantime... 4Days to go.

I finally decided to clean the bike,so that's fooked the weather then. I'm certain there were German bugs on there from 2007...

Also when I rebuilt the engine last, I broke a base gasket.. having none around and being in a hurry I siliconed and fitted it anyway.

Today whilst cleaning around I noticed a base gasket weeping, I was gonna leave it but then thought, 'for the sake of half an hour'..

I lifted the Cylinder and it wasn't the broken one , so I Siliconed it and refitted.. And I'll take a spare gasket to Spa just in case, although it's unlikely to be a bike breaker.

Then, having lifted that carb off I noticed the Oil banjo was loose, no amount of spannering would tighten it cos the head is knackered.. so on with a new bolt and there's another disaster averted (and then I checked the other two too).

And I torqued the heads down, it a wonder there was any compression they were all nearly rattling..

Oils checked and topped up..

So that's everything ready far as the bike is concerned..

Started packing the bag(s) last night, getting giddy now...

I am packed and ready to go. I did not bother to polish the spokes, as I am expecting a bit of rain. See you all at Spa.

I would save yourself a bit of work James by fitting the rotor and backplate from your 250...I reckon time has tramped on too far to be doing a loom change and cdi fitment..Save that for when you get back...Good luck with it..Your escapades merit a series of articles for the club mag.. :D
