Donington 2013
I see it is back down to a One day (Sunday) show (Sun 3rd February) - may be a good thing? Is the Club planning on having a presence? The MAIN reason I ask is because I REALLY enjoy seeing all you guys away from the Show, over all the years we have had some fantastic times and was wondering if we were having a piss up . . . ahem, a "soiree" the evening before the show and do we need to get hotels booked (While they are cheap!)
Keep One wheel down . . . . .

With the club presence at the Edinburgh and Cardiff Shows in March and May, that's plenty enough (thanks to Tartan and Danny), plus there are plans for a race-circuit visit of sorts next August/September (or perhaps the Festival of 1000 Bikes again). In any case, I do not believe any Andrew Greenwood shows are worth the effort going to, especially for one day, although that does limit the boredom. Admittedly, my experience is limited to Malvern, Stoneleigh and Donington, all of which are poorly attended by clubs, individuals and traders, but his shows cannot compete with the huge number of shows which now abound, especially ones which have more stuff, famous guests and auctions etc.. (so it's not all his fault and the weather is always on the dodgey side!). All that said, if a bunch of local triples owners want to put on a display, then why not?!? It sounds like Rick and Pete are buying the beers!!!

Speaking of the 1000 bikes Gig, the dates are the 13/14th July 2013, i for one would love to do the weekend again as it was a Fab weekend. :smt023S2Gerald wrote:With the club presence at the Edinburgh and Cardiff Shows in March and May, that's plenty enough (thanks to Tartan and Danny), plus there are plans for a race-circuit visit of sorts next August/September (or perhaps the Festival of 1000 Bikes again). I agree with Sam. Having attended as a trader the Stoneleigh and Donningtin shows previously , they were rubbish. Nobody was buying.
But the Club Stand , and its fantastic location in the "Conservatory " : I think it would be worth doing it at Donnington. Especially as it`s a one dayer. I have a hunch it`ll be much busier this year. Don`t know why. Maybe its the tropical weather due around then........................................

Neil, did you mean Simon as opposed to Sam? For me, it being a one day show makes it less of a draw as it is not worth, certainly, my effort to travel all that way for a one-day mediocre show. At best, this is a "local" as opposed to "national" show, so I can understand the draw for locals (I'd be the same and, in fact, am thinking of going to the show at the Haynes Museum darn sarf for that very reason). It seems to me that there are a reasonable number of people keen to attend, so why not take your bikes and put on a low-key display, as opposed to the professional display people seem to seem to expect these days?Neil the Don wrote:I agree with Sam.
