I'll be there one way or another. Whether I'll be on a 2 stroke or not is a different matter. LC's pissing oil out and has no MOT. KH400 is in 400 pieces. Wonder if I can press the SS250 into service by then? I bought it in 1987 and I've never had it on the road, well not legally anyway.

Harley Davidson??
Yup. Sad state of affairs when my only viable (I use that term in the loosest possible sense) 2 stroke is one of those abominations. Weirdly it always attracts a bit of interest though.

Well after 3 days of frantic activity I've got the 2 stroke Harley almost back together. When I started rebuilding it back in the early 90s I only did half a job, loosely put 75% of it together and chucked the other 25% in various boxes. She got caught in the flood in 2008 so I was dismayed when 2 pints of rusty water poured out of my NOS exhaust - only been in there for 5 years :smt010. It caught me by surprise and made a right mess on the concrete.
Anyhoo, MOT isn't going to happen in time for 2 stroke rally as my front TLS upgrade won't behave :smt102 . About half an hour ago I finally got to the stage where I could slop some juice into the tank and give her a try. I'm thinking 'second kick?' 'third kick p'raps?'.
Petrol on, choke on, ignition on, kill switch on.
Kick kick kick. Nowt.
Kick kick kick kick. Nowt.
Kick kick kick kick kick kick kick kick kick kick kick kick. Nowt.
I'm just about at the point where I start the usual checks when she crackles into life. Well less of a crackle and more of a muted Bwooorp bwoorp. Forgotten it sounds like a fcuking MZ :( Hence gone back from "she" to "it".
Still, to have a bike running again after 20 years is a satisfying feeling. A celebration is in order. A small sherry I think. (Well, pint of Guinness actually). Not that I don't like sharry. Sharry? What the feck's that? (Must be the Guinness talking).
