Re: Time to sell some seats I think.
Rick , I think I recall you getting something like £7-800. For a nos H2. Seat last year ? And Alistair ( Alisdair ? ) MonketBoy got over £300. For a good used one,
But over a£grand for a used one needing refurb ?? surely not !!
I know there are quite a few feeble minded people out there who "must". Have original, despite a nice Doremi replica selling for a little over £200. , and the fact that you could build one with a new metal base , sponge and cover. With used hinges for approx about the same . But. Where do you draw the line.?
I see Adies'. S1/2. Seat sold for £315. , and I thought some nutter would actually have paid more for it ( even although now you'd need to change the seat cover for a show bike :smt003 ). As he's taken a lot of time to get the sponge shape right , so it would cost you that much to get the parts and do the work .
but what f##kwit would pay £500 for a KH250 seat ???? Am I just WAY behind in valuations on a fully minted KH250 these days ??

Re: Time to sell some seats I think.
Neil .... I think £500 for the KH250 seat is not TOO bad. Reasons being......
Nobody is reproducing the foam
The seat covers that are available are nothing like the original
The buckles for the straps and the fittings are not available
all in all a rare seat
oh by the way I have 2 more

Re: Time to sell some seats I think.
Okay Simon. Then you are the man who had a used S2 rear mudguard on your stand for............how much again ?!!
I`ll take your point on the cover. But a foam can be shaped, and those strap buckles are also found elsewhere. ( No names, no packdrill !! )
Probably best keeping quiet about any more. If there were 3 Mona Lisa`s I think the value would drop ?!!
It`s just , if you add that it with a nos tank and wheels, you`re WAY over the price of a complete bike. Criley, maybe KH125s are collectible now ???

I paid £600.00 plus taxes etc for a N.O.S Seat for my 350 GTO Bridgestone in 2009 it had been advertised at £1000.00 for months before hand
Too old to die young

Re: Time to sell some seats I think.
Hmmm, We're back to the issue of "3 Mona Lisa's "again !
Watch how magically the gold and then the Candy Red prototypes suddenly appear from nowhere.
Strange , I always thought bikes like these would have gone back to Japan for analysis ? Then destruction , like the works racers.
In my limited experience with Japanese Companies they don't trust round- eyed white Gaines like us with their engineering technologies. Although I suppose int he motorcycling world there are plenty examples of the opposite, ....maybe. (. Like letting Foreiners run race teams etc and gifting bikes to world champions . Then , they always had Japanese works mechanics and Engineers. )
Whoops, I'm meandering off on a tangent again. must stop looking on here when having a morning coffee !! This is the equivalent to wandering about the house talking to myself !!!

Re: Time to sell some seats I think.
Before you ask ; "Gaines" was a typo. Meant to. Type "Gadgies "
Which. I now also realise probably means nothing to anyone who doesn't speak the Doric !!!!!
( Doric , Blackhat can explain that one. The Hibee who has gone strangely quite recently
