A nice example

Post by Mitsui Spy »

I can't be the only one that's done it - bought something unviewed on Ebay, ignoring what my eyes were trying to tell me from the grainy photos. Picked a ropey B2 up sometime last year on a whim and only just got round to taking a look at it. Don't know whether to laugh or cry.
What the hell is this?

or this?

I make a start on the left hand cylinder and one of the studs comes right out. I'm pleased. It looks like this. Yay! It's not been apart before.
Image
Joy is short lived when I go round the other side. Looks ominous. Chisel marks below the intake and lots of goop.
Image
And there's only three nuts holding the right hand cylinder down. Huh? Ah - this could be why. Stud fitted upside down.
Image
Now I'm no expert but I don't think this is a proper Kawasaki cylinder stud:
Image
Oh boy. Where do you start?

But weirdly a new genuine standard piston in centre. Not that it would have lasted long with the oilways being totally gooped up.
Image
Poor wee thing!
