Reminds me of the petrol tank on some old mowers.. have you tried that line of inquiry?

I've seen them on a few h2s at classic bike meets. But a good thought about the mowers.

difficult but was originaly H1R some have been seen on evil bay some years ago

That tank looks like an old lawnmower tank.[or similar]
