No, but I was stationed at Holborn head near by in Thurso Thumbs Up
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=holbo ... 66&bih=643
It was a fully automatic one man station where they sent keepers to retire to see out there last couple of years.
The older keeper had died so legally it had to be manned which was where i came in.
All i had to do was cut the grass!!
I broke the mower on day one
With the harbour bar being just 100yds away it was a three week holiday in scotland and the ONLY station where I spent more than I actually earned
However looking from the lighthouse you asked about Andrew towards Orkney (11 miles away) you would have seen the islands of Stroma and pentland skerries, both of which I served on and Pentland skerries even involves a KH250 tale

As usual, you have the facts wrong :D . It is RMT members who went on strike because they are too thick to negotiate unlike the Unite shop stewards like me. Soooo Sammy boy, stick that in yer pipe and smoke it :D

Hi John, Yes you're quite right, a fair way from home.

Went over to Orkney and spent 4 nights there and had a meal out with Leslie, his wife and daughter. Really enjoyed the trip but by god it's windy there, noticable by an almost complete lack of trees!!!

See you next weekend at Blackpool.
