Hoddesdon Motorcycle Show 13/7/14‏

Post by malc87 »

Ive received this off Simon???
Anyone interested to attend?

HI Malcolm Please find set out some standard blurbor a show Im helping to organise. I wil be contacting the local guys but thought I would contact you first.

Any comments ?

My name is Simon Whitelock owner and MD of Hertfordshire Superbikes

I am helping out Broxbourne Council ( Hertfordshire ) with the organising of their first motorcycle show in the town centre.

You may be aware that they hold a classic car show with motorcycles included ( new and old ) every summer on a Sat which is very well attended ( 7 to 8 thousand last year ) and they have now decided add a second day on the Sunday just for motorbikes.

There will be a lot of classic machines ( which I am very keen on ) but I am also asking local franchises for the major brands to attend as well as a range of associated businesses.
There is no charge to display.

The event itself is held in the town centre and all of the roads are closed off. It is well organised and I feel a good opportunity to promote motorcycling especially classic bikes.

If you could confirm your willingness or otherwise to attend I would be most grateful and will of course be sending more information in due course.

Feel free to call me on 01707*********

Thanks

Simon Whitelock

Hoddesdon is not far from me. My Dad used to live there. But a bike show there seems weird. I would be up to going though.

Anyone still going to this or are you all going to Dragstalgia?
Apparently they are riding into Hoddesdon from the Ace Café - but I don't know what time they are meeting - I shall try to find out. I am intending to go but the weather don't look good.

Update:
I have just spoken to Simon the run from the Ace Café is off. But the show is still on from 10am.

hoddesdon bike show july 2014 008 50.jpg
I went but didn't stay that long. There weren't all that many bikes there, a few Harleys, a few British bikes, 10 or 12 scooters, some guys from the Z1 OC. My skill with a cameraphone is limited and the Zeds left shortly after I arrived. Some bloke wanted to tell me all about his mate's KH750? that he had in 1974 which went bang on the local bypass. Met Simon W and saw his 48 cylinder machine in the flesh for the first time. Went home via High Beech and met another Nick (from Harlow) who is in the triples club, but he was riding his Bonnie. Saw a gold H2 don't know who was riding it. 50+ sunny miles done - so much for the doom and gloom weather forecast!
