I know that spot very well. We sometimes stay in the big hotel on the corner. Just down from where Jane's standing there's a good Guinness bar on the other side popular with the ex-pats and boat crews. Thumbs Up

So, yesterday we set off to Monaco in blazing sunshine, covered our arms just to keep the sun off, wore shoes n jeans n tee shirt. When we passed Nice, on the hills is viewing point for the bay, it was a little cloudy when we stopped then we heard the first rumble of thunder.

Time to go.

Too late, before the helmets were on the rain had started, an absolute deluge for the entire journey, roads awash, big flashes an bangs overhead, flooding in some parts, there was rain inside and out of the helmets.
Cameras, phones, clothes in a bag on the rack, all soaked.

Back at base, clothes were taken off in the outside passage, shoes poured out helmets poured out... We didnt have a dry spot between us..

We just grabbed this snap as the clouds rolled over, the camera didnt work this morning, but 50miles in the sunshine round my neck today has revived it..

Today we started the return journey, intending to stop at Aix en Provence, we pushed a little further and ended up in Arles a beautiful Roman town near Montpellier.

We passed this near Cannes Airport.

As usual.. as soon as we stopped, a man appeared, to talk about the bike..

What a great fortnight we have had, met several new people, some old :D mates too.. traipsed the length of the Riv and have some great stories to relate (well I think so).

Got home this afternoon, to find a Myxi' Rabbit hiding by the stable, I couldn't bear to leave it to suffer.. I never did anything like that before, I am absolutely gutted, but it is out of it's suffering now.

I hadn't considered doing a story for the club mag until I was down there, I will start writing as soon as we're settled back into normal life.

Congrats on a successful trip Graham! Looking forward to the story.

It's grim having to dispatch a creature but you did the right thing. Well done.
