US reflectors have to go

I don't like the US spec reflectors on my H2. What's the best way to remove? Do they just unscrew? I'm a bit hesitant to start twisting them with force in case they just shear off and I end up damaging things.

The rear ones are attached to the chrome shock cover. As these are period age I was considering replacing them with a modern set that work better. What is the accepted best modern aftermarket shock that looks pretty much standard? Is the length 320mm?
I was considering the Hagon ones.

The front ones are attached to the chrome covers on the bottom triple clamp. I've looked for a set of replacement Euro spec covers but can't seem to find any. Just found these - seems very expensive, is this what they are worth?

have hagon chromed on my H2B good stufs with good price.
Euro H2B haven't the us reflectors front or rear. Front nothing just the hole to fit it still here.

A top tip for the bottom yoke covers, repro Z1 ones are almost the same but they wrap around the fork leg a little bit more on the later triples so won't drop over the bottom yoke. Take a few millimetres off one edge with a Dremel (use your old one as a template) and touch up the cut edge with some clear varnish. For £24 you have nice shiny new covers with no holes.

These ones are advertised as fitting H1/H2 but are Z1 ones so will need trimming http://www.saisei-europe.com/Shop/Produ ... -h1h2-z1z2

The rear reflectors just unscrew off the standard shocks and you can spin the shrouds round so the holes face inside. Doesn't help your handling though. I have the Hagon chrome custom shocks on mine with the shrouds for a period look. Not cheap though, about £250 new and not a lot of second hand ones around. For some reason Hagon seem to do most bodies black so you have to pay extra for chrome if you want them to look right.

The seller on Ebay came back to me with a revised offer of $40 for the used pair of yolk covers I posted above. Not sure if they are worth this as not in top condition. (plus cost of shipping from the States)

Any thoughts from the forum on this one? These or pattern Z1 covers as mentioned above?

So you are talking about £52 with postage, sounds expensive if not brilliant condition, especially if you get stung for import duty too.

Well, for now I just unscrewed the front reflectors and put a couple of bolts and washers into to hide the hole. I took of the rear also but found that the shrouds wouldn't spin so I just swapped over the right and left shocks so the hole is on the inside. I can live with that.

I will keep an eye out for a spare set of front covers a bit more reasonably priced.

not at all, after all I bought my H2B on 1999 so the bike could have change since she has been sold new in Bologna on 1974. :wink:

You swapped the left and right shockers over to reverse the top shroud .

You wanna be careful that may upset the habdling !!! ( I`d have taken them off one at a time and turned them 180 degrees , then refitted them on the same sides . )

Well of course what I meant was I just turned round each shock 180 degrees, one at a time. Which is what I did - given that I now have no center stand and had to keep one shock on at all time.

But, kind of, rationally, what I said is the same thing no? Just not what I actually did.

Anyway, whatever, you can't see the screw holes anymore which is good.

UK H2C had front reflectors fitted,they are not unique to the USA model.
Part number for UK front reflector is 28001-019
for USA models its 28001-029
I think there is a slight colour difference.
I would put the front reflectors back on,as they might save your life
when you are out at night or in poor weather.
